My interest with nature and the countryside started young with my first job as a gamekeeper. I’m still a keen sportsman and now practice traditional country skills with an enthusiasm for cooking outdoors, using old recipes where possible. As an instructor with Wilderness Pioneers, I regularly teach bushcraft skills which range from the Paleo period onwards – preparing and tanning hides to fire lighting with a mobile phone!
Finding BCUK online in 2004, I persuaded my family to join me on the first Bushmoot advertised and we’ve never looked back. The Moot is a great place where you can relax and run by the ‘’woodland clock’: no set times to do anything and plenty of time to relax – and of course catch up with Moot family and learn many new skills if you want to.
The Moot family are some of the nicest people that you could ever meet and I am proud to be part of it and have watched it grow over the last few years.
